“Bring Out the Noor in Me”

Clifton Mosque Summer Camp 2019

Welcome to the Clifton Summer Camp! Our goal is to provide our young Muslim children with a beneficial, yet fun summer program that incorporates a variety of activities, such as self defense classes, arts and crafts, hands-on experiments, character building and Quranic studies, and a daily halaqa, all which will tie in our theme, "Bring Out the Noor in Me"

This camp is for those entering 1st-8th graders. The grade level students will be divided into 4 groups and be on a rotating schedule of classes.

Our theme for this summer's camp is "Bring Out the Noor in Me”. The message of Islam is complete and holistic, as should be the believing and practicing Muslim. Muslims are believers, activists, intellectuals, artists and more. They are encouraged to believe with their hearts and act with their bodies, demonstrating and spreading noor in every aspect of their lives. This summer we will bring out the noor in ourselves by seeking it from Allah--as our beloved Prophet PBUH did--and searching for it in heroes around us. We will look for inspiration in the stories we read, in those who fight for the weak and disadvantaged, in the heroes who push boundaries, in those who inspire us with their music and art, and in every place and person the Noor of Allah shows itself.

Each day the camper will get an opportunity to practice Quran, engage in a chacter building class with Imam Ismaeel, do team building outside activities, and participate in an indoor activity.

This year’s personal development workshops are:

  • CPR/Pillowcase Project course with the local American Red Cross

  • Cooking class with Tasneem Khatri from Meem’s Sweet Treats

  • Turkish Ebru water marbling class with a certified instructor

  • Gardening with Civic Garden Center

  • Mindfullness learning with Renee Groenemann from The Healing Space Cincinnati.

Each day we will end with a halaqa that will help us reflect on all that we learned and how it aligns with our theme.
