Guidelines for Funeral Arrangements
In the event of a death in the family, the following steps will help guide you through making funeral and burial arrangements according to Islamic traditions:
Step 1: Contact the Funeral Home
As soon as death occurs, the financially responsible family member or representative should immediately contact Preston Charles Funeral Home at (513) 761-0082 to arrange for transportation and removal of the deceased.
Step 2: Arrange Body Preparation (Ghusl)
It is the family's responsibility to arrange for the washing (Ghusl) and preparation of the body. Contact the appropriate coordinators below for assistance:

Step 3: Coordinate Prayer & Community Announcements
Contact ICGC (513-755-3280) to report the death and schedule Janazah prayers.
Direct the masjid on whether you would like a community announcement sent out.

Step 4: Burial & Cost Breakdown
The Funeral Home will coordinate burial arrangements with Crown Hill Cemetery.
Estimated Total Cost: ~$6,000.00 (Final itemized breakdown pending confirmation with Preston Funeral Home)
Included Services: Burial package, opening/closing of the grave, burial plot, and suggested $250.00 donation to ICGC to cover burial supplies (coffin, shroud/washcloth, etc.).
Additional Overtime Fees (Subject to Change):
Saturday (9:00 AM – 12:00 PM): +$100.00
Saturday (12:00 PM – 3:00 PM): +$300.00
Sundays & After 3:30 PM (Any Day): Triple rate charges
Step 5: Financial Responsibility & Assistance
Funeral and burial costs must be paid directly to the Funeral Home at the time of service. Payment sources should be covered in the following order:
Burial or life insurance coverage.
Assets of the deceased.
Financial assets of the family.
If financial hardship remains after exploring steps 1–3, the family may apply for family assistance to cover the remaining balance.
